Wedding Prep #1 (of many)

Last week and the weekend were full of wedding preparations.  From getting invitations ready, to music to everything else in between.  Because Michael and I were going to take our engagement photos, I reached out for help.  Starting with: what to wear.

My friend Susan has great style, and happens to be a buyer in fashion district.  She planned out my outfits and we were on a hunt.  Not only did I find exactly what I was looking for, but the food after to reward ourselves was perfect. I must post a photo:

Saturday, I scheduled a trial session with my Makeup Artist: Grace Lee.  She is so talented! I’ve known her since highschool and I knew if/when I got engaged, I would reach out to her for her services.  My BFF/MOH was available to help out the day of and created beautiful flower crowns!  Michael and I were so nervous for our shoot, especially since we don’t take many photos together especially lovey-dovey ones, so we didn’t know what to do.  But our photographers were so awesome and fun to be with!  They definitely made this a wonderful experience and I wish to do it again, hehe!  Thank you to everyone who made our e-session so perfect! Here’s a sneak peek (and photos with Michelle, lol.  I think the 2nd photo captures our friendship perfectly):

The next day, I scheduled a trunkshow event with Little Borrowed Dress (since they were in LA) so that my BMs could try on their dresses and pick their dress style.  It was so much fun!  I didn’t anticipate the champagne and photobooth so we definitely took advantage of that.  I don’t know how else to express how much I love them and this picture but with this ^_^

Lastly, one of my BMs couldn’t make the event, but held her Golden-Oscar birthday party so here’s a photo of her (LOL I was trying not to mention her age, but it’s right there in the cake):

Aziz Ansari: Live

Michael and I had the opportunity to go see Aziz Ansari in San Diego last Friday since I had bought tickets as a Christmas gift to him (but also me, teehee).  Before the show, we visited two different breweries: Ballast Point (they renovated the miramar location for 12 million dollars!) and Green Flash; and had dinner at Ironside Fish & Oyster Bar in Little Italy.  He was amaaaaaazing (I hope you read that with his voice)!  We both love him on Parks & Recreation and we watched his comedy stand-up online for my birthday two years ago so he’s very important to not only us individually, but also as a couple, lol.  We definitely experienced #treatyoself2015!

Hello!  I came back a few weeks ago from New York; sucks what Sandy is doing over there, causing billions of dollars in damage and I hear the death toll is continuing to rise.  I know “sucks” isn’t considered great vernacular to describe, but that’s how I feel to sum it up, it sucks.

Anyway, here are some links… feels kind of lame to follow that up with anything else.

For when you’re sad and lonely and need a pick-me-up compliment!

Who stays in hotels anymore?  Not this guy.  Or these people.   It’s all about Cocoon treehouses.  Portland‘s already doing it…

Good article on New York’s harsh inequality

Strongest beer, ever.

Philly is so cool.  Horcrux scavenger hunt, Potter pub crawl, Quidditch… Another reason LA sucks.

Article on Asians, test scores, disparity in school systems.

New York wedding cakes & famous apartments!

The nonexistent debate – this is hilarious.

I really enjoy eating seafood and one of my favorite dishes that my mom makes is crab soup/casserole (?).  I was super excited when she made some over the weekend!  My mom’s an amazing cook except for spaghetti.

Anyway, she makes the soup in a ginormous pot and there’s enough to last my family for a week, but we ration it out to last us a few weeks.

After consuming a bowl, I reek of “the deepest part of the ocean” and it gets in my hair, skin, breath, and finger/finger nails.

One time, I had just eaten crab soup, and Michael and I were hanging out.  He said I smelled like crab and I thought he said “crap.”  He laughed and I cried (just kidding about the crying).  We both laughed about it afterwards.

I talk too much

I had such a great weekend with the Lifepoint family; partaking in communion together; then to hear awesome testimonies by fellow brothers/sisters was amazing.

I “lost” my voice over the weekend, and I went from sounding like husky to Tara Reid/Louis Armstrong, to crazy chain smoker (no offense to Louis Armstrong).

At first, I thought it was cool, someone even said it was “sexy” (like this time) but after the initial 10 minutes, it just got annoying!  Annoying, because I love to talk.  And I like to yell when I play board games/games.  It was incredibly annoying playing scattergories and trying to defend my answers and hate on others without a voice.  Or when we played mafia (awesome game, btw).  Ugh!

All weekend I tried getting in on conversations, talking to people, and after a while, I thought: what if people want me to just stop talking?  I find it annoying to talk, but others might find it even more annoying to listen.

Michael suggested that I don’t talk anymore to preserve my voice and rest.  I haven’t taken that advice.
