Last week and the weekend were full of wedding preparations. From getting invitations ready, to music to everything else in between. Because Michael and I were going to take our engagement photos, I reached out for help. Starting with: what to wear.
My friend Susan has great style, and happens to be a buyer in fashion district. She planned out my outfits and we were on a hunt. Not only did I find exactly what I was looking for, but the food after to reward ourselves was perfect. I must post a photo:
Saturday, I scheduled a trial session with my Makeup Artist: Grace Lee. She is so talented! I’ve known her since highschool and I knew if/when I got engaged, I would reach out to her for her services. My BFF/MOH was available to help out the day of and created beautiful flower crowns! Michael and I were so nervous for our shoot, especially since we don’t take many photos together especially lovey-dovey ones, so we didn’t know what to do. But our photographers were so awesome and fun to be with! They definitely made this a wonderful experience and I wish to do it again, hehe! Thank you to everyone who made our e-session so perfect! Here’s a sneak peek (and photos with Michelle, lol. I think the 2nd photo captures our friendship perfectly):
The next day, I scheduled a trunkshow event with Little Borrowed Dress (since they were in LA) so that my BMs could try on their dresses and pick their dress style. It was so much fun! I didn’t anticipate the champagne and photobooth so we definitely took advantage of that. I don’t know how else to express how much I love them and this picture but with this ^_^
Lastly, one of my BMs couldn’t make the event, but held her Golden-Oscar birthday party so here’s a photo of her (LOL I was trying not to mention her age, but it’s right there in the cake):
Michael and I had the opportunity to go see Aziz Ansari in San Diego last Friday since I had bought tickets as a Christmas gift to him (but also me, teehee). Before the show, we visited two different breweries: Ballast Point (they renovated the miramar location for 12 million dollars!) and Green Flash; and had dinner at Ironside Fish & Oyster Bar in Little Italy. He was amaaaaaazing (I hope you read that with his voice)! We both love him on Parks & Recreation and we watched his comedy stand-up online for my birthday two years ago so he’s very important to not only us individually, but also as a couple, lol. We definitely experienced #treatyoself2015!
Here are two talented friends of mine! Always feeling enriched and loved after our hangouts. Happy birthday to CK! We celebrated at Cream & Sugar, a local cafe (turns out I went to college with the owner!) and it’s a great place to study, chat, drink good coffee, or eat something delicious.
The cupcakes (matcha green tea with frosting + matcha macaron) pictured below were made @byjennasea and I am normally not a sweets/dessert eating type, but her desserts are truly amazing. She also does desserts for weddings/special events so if you ever need these services, she’s wonderful! Also, CK is the most special agent of PR and anything PR-related, incase you need a great spin.
This post was not sponsored by them, lol. They don’t even know I write here.

We went to visit a dear friend in Arizona, where she is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force as an Optometrist. So proud of her!
My entire summer consisted of watching a lot of tv (not complaining about this one), taking summer classes, volunteering, and also read Gone Girl, so this was a nice getaway before the madness of school begins.
For lunch, we tried a Angel’s Trumpet Ale House (pictured below) in downtown Phoenix, and Olive & Ivy for Jewearly’s birthday dinner in Scottsdale, AZ. Definitely going back to that place! It had a nice outdoor patio, marketplace, and a delicious menu (dangit, no pictures). Spontaneously, we also got to attend the Cardinals vs. Texans’ preseason game at the University of Phoenix Stadium! My first football game ever and tickets were really affordable ($4.50 on stubhub)! I definitely enjoyed it, and wish I can attend another one (not for the Cardinals) in the future.

But the welcome I receive with every start”
