Happy Friday!

ImageI’ve been wanting to purchase little knacks, and I’m looking for inexpensive lucite trays (for makeup/perfume/etc) and porcelain white bowls (to carry jewelry) so if anyone has any suggestions, please share!

Here are a few links to make your friday even more unproductive:

Did you guys know it’s Cinco de Mayo this weekend?  They’ve only been mentioning it on Pandora.

Kentro Greek Kitchen

My awesome cousin Jane, took me for a post-birthday dinner to Kentro Greek Kitchen in Downtown Fullerton (DTF).  I was surprised at how I missed this place the many times I’ve been to DTF!

I wasn’t too adventurous since I got the chicken pita (the dijoin aioli was amazing!!!), and we shared the Saganaki, which is a pan-fried kefalotiri (huh?) cheese.  I was scared, since it’s some crazy-named cheese, but so glad we did!  We paired our food with the recommended white wine: Kouros and our dinner was perfect.

I’d definitely come back and this may be one of my go-to spots for dinner in DTF.  FYI, you order first, get your number, and then find a seat.  The service is great, everyone’s super nice, and one of the workers gave me a free baklava for my birthday!

For those who love wine & more cheese, Twisted Vine is just across the street, so you can hop on over to there for more fun times!

Wonderland

I recently received a terrarium for my birthday and being terribly bored for a second, I glanced over and  I imagined what it would be like to eat a piece of bread that will shrink me to fit in here.  What a wonderful world to explore for like 5 seconds.  Everything seems so beautiful in here and peaceful, even for a moment.  There’s a deeper meaning to where I need to go in life that I have yet to find and what an adventure to someone like me who is just as mad as the hatter.

‘But I don’t want to go among mad people,’ Alice remarked.
‘Oh, you can’t help that,’ said the Cat: ‘we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad.’
‘How do you know I’m mad?’ said Alice.
‘You must be,’ said the Cat, ‘or you wouldn’t have come here.’

‘Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?’
‘That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,’ said the Cat.
‘I don’t much care where —’ said Alice.
‘Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,’ said the Cat

American Idol 2012

I stopped watching American Idol after Clay Aiken and I didn’t know that popular singers like Carrie Underwood, Jordan Sparks, etc…(I really can’t name any more) were past American Idol winners until much later.  But a friend introduced me to a few from this season and I haven’t been able to stop watching their youtube clips!  I don’t even know who to root for because they are so good!

Check them out here if you’d like to view them all.

Dining Etiquette

I don’t know how to eat like a lady, I guess I missed Proper Etiquette 101.  Which is why I’m fascinated with traditions, table manners, cultures on eating, etc. because I want to learn.  I’m so happy I came across these helpful guides that shed light on what’s appropriate for dinner parties, events, or traveling!

Weekend Diary

What an eventful weekend!  I can’t express how thankful I am or the joy I’m feeling.

Starting off Friday by spending quality time with friends over good food and coffee, to my 25th birthday party at Escondite, and ending the weekend off with close girlfriends was exactly how I hoped this weekend would be!

A huge thank you to everyone who took time out to celebrate with me and made sure I had a good time; I truly enjoyed everyone’s company!!!

An even bigger thank you to Hanna Jung & Michelle Hong for also making this wonderful weekend happen without a blip!

Sorry for lack of pictures, I will post them later.

Friday!

I told my mom I wanted to retire at the age of 25, and she said that was funny.  I explained my dreams, and the lifestyle that I want to have (for this to work, I need money, so I should’ve won the lottery two weeks ago).  But she reminded me that the life I seem to pursue is not the end goal and I need to continue seeking a greater purpose and one day, doors will open up.  Also, that fridays/weekends/holidays are awesome because you work hard and then you can relax.  Fine I won’t retire at 25, but to retire at 26,  I need to work on winning that lottery alot harder, time is of the essence!

Anyway, I saw this on this blog, and Parisians are so chic.

Do you know what I looked like at 10 years old with glasses?

I pretty much resembled Mindy Kaling in this hilarious picture shown on the back of her book, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me (And Other Concerns)? {via Amy O’Connor}

Everything’s so nice, trendy, and technological for babies/kids these days.  I truly appreciate the 90′s and growing up in that era because life as a toddler is too hard these days.

Anger

I got angry at a coworker today, and it was because of the dumbest reason ever (on their part).  I was at a loss of words, but my mind was racing so fast of all the things I could have said, and wanted to say.  But I walked away.  I sit here and think of everything that I should have said, and these verses came to mind:

Romans 12:19 – Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”

Matthew 5:38-39 – “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil.  But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.”

Obviously the first is very dramatic in my situation, since this wasn’t even an insane battle of anything, but I still couldn’t help feeling like, “GET HIM GOD!”

He’s the most difficult person to talk to/get to know/love, but I think my purpose here is greater than just work.  I really need to forgive and move on, even if it means letting go of my pride and push loving words through gritted teeth.
